What does a curious child have in common with a cheeky Australian kangaroo? More than you might think.

Meet Maxie Roo, a cheeky Eastern Grey kangaroo joey who rests beneath a yellow-blossomed golden wattle tree, munches on sweet flowers, and goes bounding through the bushland. He jumps so high he feels like he is flying alongside the colourful rosellas, galahs, and cockatoos. Kids will giggle at his playful morning routine, which includes plenty of stretching, belly scratches, and a few cheeky farts.

But when Maxie and his cautious best friend, Indie, are startled by a red fox, they are separated and become lost in the bush. Working together, they make a plan and retrace their steps along a cool creek to find their way back to the safety of their mob in the setting sun.
